Kastas Participated in the EFRS 2024

Kastaş participated in the 9th EFRS International Iron and Steel Symposium, one of the key events in the iron and steel sector, held this year with the motto “Sustainable Steel; Strong Future.” The event featured panels and discussions around themes such as digitalization, innovation, carbon neutrality, and green production, with participation from various companies.

The symposium took place on June 6-7 at the Tepekule Convention and Exhibition Center in İzmir. Representing Kastaş Sealing Technologies, Design and Project Manager Sercan Karakoç, Test Center Manager Cem Tanyeri, and Senior R&D Engineer Mine Ünlü Cebeci participated with poster presentations. At our booth in the İzmir Hall, our representatives included Anatolian Region Manager Hakan Topaç, İzmir Branch Senior Manager Mustafa Gündüz, and Ankara Branch Sales Manager Mesut Aydın, showcasing our sealing solutions and innovative engineering specifically for the iron and steel sector.

Senior R&D Engineer Mine Ünlü Cebeci, who presented a poster at EFRS, shared the following about the symposium and the presentation:
“This year, we participated in the EFRS 2024 International Iron and Steel Symposium as Kastaş R&D with a poster presentation. The poster detailed raw materials and products capable of operating at high temperatures, specifically for the iron and steel sector. It featured the performance and test results of the JPU9409 product, which can operate at 120°C in moldless manufacturing (SmartSeal). Additionally, we highlighted the superior properties of FKM-coated Nomex fabric suitable for higher process temperatures and PTFE-coated Nomex fabric products suitable for applications where speed is critical and fluid temperature control is challenging or for use in water-based oils.
The poster presentation was made to Prof. Dr. Hakan Gür, a member of the symposium management committee and faculty member at METU, where we provided information about our company and the poster.”

Our Anatolian Region Manager Hakan Topaç noted that EFRS 2024 was highly productive, receiving positive feedback from sector-specific delegates and visitors. He also mentioned that the symposium offered a favorable environment for business collaborations, appealing to technology and innovation enthusiasts in the iron and steel sector. He added:

“EFRS 2024 is an ideal platform for keeping up with the latest developments in the iron and steel sector and your production area, making new connections, and attending inspiring presentations. The participation rate this year was higher than in previous years, which allowed us to reach the relevant audience in the iron and steel sector and share all our new innovations as Kastaş Sealing Technologies. It was a fruitful event filled with positive feedback.

As in all areas of production, in the iron and steel sector, our field teams' periodic visits, project productions, and solution-oriented technical support continue with new generation sealing elements that ensure the flow of production and energy. Kastaş will continue to support the Materials and Metallurgy sector, particularly in applications requiring high heat and energy, such as electric arc furnaces, high-frequency melting furnaces, and tilting ladles, with suitable raw materials and sealing elements. We will continue to provide solutions with critical sealing elements in facilities where energy flow and continuity in production are targeted, such as steel plants, rolling mills, and oxygen and water treatment plants in the iron and steel sector.”
